Centralised monitoring and control

Disposal and recycling facilities are operated through heterogeneous server and computer environments. The computers are located in central server rooms under optimal climate conditions and allow effective maintenance with reduced onsite traveling of the IT managers. KVM switching systems provide centralised administration of the IT infrastructures.

Monitoring and control of all recycling and incineration processes takes place in the control room. A video wall supplies all relevant information and video of the process parameters. The workplaces of the operators are equipped with monitors and a variety of peripherals. Powerful KVM matrix switches and video wall controllers regulate the complex switching and video distribution.

Black Box can assist you with the planning and implementation of video distribution and system control in control rooms for waste management and recycling systems. Benefit from our extensive experience and comprehensive portfolio including special requirements for device integration and environmental conditions.

Solution approach:

KVM matrix switching and HD video distribution

In the control room, all hardware and software-based processes are constantly monitored and controlled using powerful KVM switching systems. These systems cover the controls of the distributed recycling and incineration plants, and other security systems. A reliable 24/7-operation with multiple redundancy strategies is vital to guarantee smooth and secure process automation. Operators can switch between sources within milliseconds and decide which source to monitor on which screen. That way the fastest response times are achieved and failures can be eliminated.

Video wall distribution in control rooms

In addition to monitoring processes, plant operators can display certain system parameters on a large video wall in the control room. This video wall may consist of differently sized panels, arranged in various configurations. A video wall controller allows the operator to select which process to display on which panel. Video from one source can be distributed across multiple displays or a cutout from one source can be displayed very detailed on selected panels.  IP-based video extenders ensure reliable audio/video transmissions from the sources to the video wall.
